Carlisle ban blow

Burnley defender Clarke Carlisle is unavailable for the trip to Sheffield United as he begins a three-match suspension. The Clarets centre-back was dismissed during the recent 1-1 draw at Millwall and could be replaced by Michael Duff or Leon Cort. Both men played just over an hour for the reserves in midweek and boss Brian Laws may also be without Andre Bikey. Bikey sustained a rib injury against Millwall and was replaced after just 14 minutes, but the Cameroon international is still troubled by the injury and a late decision will be made on his fitness. Elsewhere, Dean Marney will hope to keep his place ahead of Graham Alexander in midfield and Kevin McDonald has joined Scunthorpe on a month-long loan deal.
