    Caldwell ecstatic to be back

    16 Apr 2010 - 16:11:40

Burnley skipper Steven Caldwell can not wait to get back in the first-team after missing the last four months through injury.

The Scotland international has struggled with abdominal and groin problems but he made a welcome return from the bench in last weekend's fantastic 4-1 victory at fellow relegation-threatened Hull City.

Now he is throwing his weight behind their challenge as Brian Laws' men look to clamber away from the bottom three with just four games remaining this term, starting with a test against his former club Sunderland on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "Time is running out and I feel as though I am ready. I want to be out there.

"It will be a special day for me going back. I sincerely hope I am playing. It is a tremendous place to play football, a great stadium and some great people running the club.

"We have four massive cup finals and beating Hull has given us a bit more confidence. We are buoyant but know Sunderland are an excellent side."
