Caldwell closing on Burnley return

Caldwell has yet to figure for the Clarets in the Premier League this season after sustaining a groin injury whilst on duty with Scotland. The centre-back, who was an unused sub for the 5-0 mauling by Spurs at White Hart Lane on Saturday, will now look to face Birmingham at Turf Moor in three days' time. Caldwell must first prove his fitness in a Premier Reserve League North clash with Hull at Accrington's Crown Ground. Ahead of the game with the Blues, Burnley boss Owen Coyle told the Lancashire Telegraph: "The skipper comes back into the equation, as they all do. "I know what the problems were (at Spurs), it was there for me to see. We'll look to address that."
