Caldwell and Caldwell set for Wigan

The 2009/10 season started with Burnley captain Steven Caldwell playing alongside his brother Gary for Scotland, and next season could see them line up together for Wigan Athletic. Burnley's Steven got a call up for the Scots for their game against Norway in Oslo just days ahead of the new Premier League season, but an injury in that game meant he played only a small part in our entire season after he'd skippered us to that triumphant promotion at Wembley. He was ruled out of the first seven games of the season and then missed virtually the second half of the season before playing in the last two games, after which he was released by manager Brian Laws.Caldwell has since spoke warmly of Burnley Football Club and his three and a half years at Turf Moor. "I've loved every minute of it," he said. "It's been such a journey, to see how the club has evolved, and the team."Now, Caldwell, who like brother Gary started his career with Newcastle, could remain in the Premier League with the latest reports suggesting that Wigan boss Roberto Martinez, who signed Gary in January, now wants to take Steven to the Concrete Jungle ahead of the 2010/11 season.
