Burnley complete Mears transfer

Burnley have completed the signing of Derby County defender Tyrone Mears for a fee in the region of £500,000. Mears, 26, who had a loan spell at Marseille last season, had been linked with Portsmouth but joins the Premier League newcomers on a three-year deal. "Just hearing what manager Owen Coyle had to say and how he wants to improve me as a player is a major plus," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
