Burnley v West Ham United Live

Turf Moor hosts an all-Clarets battle and a relegation six-pointer as West Ham travel to Lancashire to take on Burnley. The home side, now under the charge of Brian Laws, are without a win in their last 12 league games, a run which included a 5-3 reverse to the Hammers at Upton Park at the end of November. Laws has been busy trying to add to his squad as he attempts to engineer a change in fortunes, with defenders Leon Cort and Danny Fox drafted in from Stoke City and Celtic respectively. Striker David Nugent will also complete the campaign on loan with Burnley, while Chelsea youngster Jack Cork and French forward Frederic Nimani have also joined the cause. Laws has a number of injury headaches, with Graham Alexander (calf strain), Chris McCann (knee) and Steven Caldwell (groin) all major doubts, while Christian Kalvenes lasted just 35 minutes of the 2-1 loss to Chelsea due to a hamstring problem. West Ham were also busy on transfer deadline day, with manager Gianfranco Zola bringing in three new strikers to bolster his side's struggling forward line. Much will be expected of former Blackburn Rovers frontman Benni McCarthy, while Brazilian Ilan and Egypt international Mido will play back-up roles with Carlton Cole now back in action. Zola is expecting good things in the link-up of Zola and McCarthy, telling the club's official website: "I think it will be a good partnership because Cole is strong and skilful and McCarthy is also smart and skilful. "I think it will be a big help for Carlton, because it's going to give him the opportunity to be more relaxed and also the opposition will not only have to look after one player, they have to look after two players and that is a big thing." Zola will also be boosted by the Upton Park injury list having eased in recent times, although Guillermo Franco and Danny Gabbidon (both hamstring) are doubtful.
