No new worries for Dyche

Burnley have no fresh injury concerns for their crucial Barclays Premier League relegation battle with Leicester at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Defender Steven Reid (calf) is back in contention and midfielder Ross Wallace (knee) has suffered no ill effects following his recent return to action.

The only notable absentees are long-term knee injury victims Dean Marney and Kevin Long.

Clarets manager Dyche has no interest in building up the encounter as a grudge match.

Foxes boss Nigel Pearson described Burnley as "quite poor" earlier this season.

But Dyche has no intention of dragging up that matter to add spice to what is already likely to be a highly-charged occasion at Turf Moor on Saturday.

The two clubs, both promoted from the Sky Bet Championship last season, meet in a game that could have huge implications for either side's chances of surviving.

Burnley go into the game bottom of the table but just two points from a safe position and two behind 18th-placed Leicester.

"Every manager has the chance to say whatever they want to," said Dyche when reminded of Pearson's comments, which came after Burnley snatched a stoppage-time equaliser at the King Power Stadium in October.

"I have no problem with that.

"If you look in my history, I have very rarely - if ever - questioned the opposition or the manager.

"I made a conscious decision that I would respect everyone and how difficult it is. Even before I was a manager I had a feeling of how tough it is.

"But everyone to their own. They have the chance to say or do whatever they see fit."

Pearson has warned Leicester they are not safe yet.

The Foxes will escape the bottom three for the first time since November with a win, if Hull slip up at Crystal Palace.

Three straight wins have breathed new life into their survival hopes and they moved off the bottom after Saturday's 2-0 victory over Swansea.

Leicester also face relegation rivals Sunderland and QPR in their run-in and are only in the drop zone on goal difference.

But despite their new-found form, manager Pearson insists they cannot take safety for granted.

"People come in and might say it's buoyant, but my perspective on it is that we've worked very hard all season," he said.

"We're still in the bottom three, so I'm not really too concerned what other people are saying.

"I know that we've given ourselves a better chance than we had three weeks ago, but that's what it is - a better chance.

"There's a long way to go and the majority of the games that we have left will have a direct bearing on sides around us."

David Nugent, who has five goals in his last six games against Burnley, is a doubt with a calf injury but Marcin Wasilewski should be fit following a dead leg.
