Burnley v Fulham Live

Burnley host Fulham at Turf Moor on Saturday as they look to continue their impressive home record in the Premier League. Owen Coyle's men have dropped just five points on home soil and after wins against Manchester United, Everton, Sunderland, Birmingham City and Hull City, the Clarets sit comfortably in 13th position. However, it is on their travels where the Lancashire-based outfit come unstuck and they have picked just one point up from a possible 24 and this must be reversed if they are to avoid a relegation dogfight. They have won just once in their last seven fixtures and now is the time for Coyle to earn his money. He needs to arrest their slump and it seems the honeymoon period is now over following their promotion from the Championship last season. Fulham are looking in fine fettle and, with three wins and a draw from their last four games, the Londoners should be confident of upsetting the party up north. With a trio of league games against Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea to come before the new year, Fulham will be striving for the three points ahead of these daunting tests. Clint Dempsey and Bobby Zamora are impressing boss Roy Hodgson and they are expected to be granted advanced roles at the weekend. The Cottagers remain in the Europa League by the skin of their teeth and only a win in Switzerland against Basel next Wednesday will see them progress to the next stage so it will be interesting to see if the shrewd Hodgson's team selection has a bearing on this fact. Simon Davies remains on the sidelines for Fulham with an ankle injury and Andrew Johnson (groin), Diomansy Kamara and Dickson Etuhu (both knee) are likely to sit out. The hosts could be without Jay Rodriguez (ankle) while Martin Paterson (knee) and Chris McCann (knee ligaments) are still short of fitness.
