Burnley v Blackpool reaction
Ian Holloway hit out at speculation linking him with the vacant manager's job at Blackburn after seeing his Blackpool side lose 1-0 at Burnley.
The Seasiders boss insisted he had enough to worry about following their defeat to their local rivals at Turf Moor.
The Clarets, themselves without a manager following Eddie Howe's return to Bournemouth, claimed all three points after Charlie Austin bagged his 16th goal of the season.
Austin's first-half header made it four defeats in the past five games for Blackpool, whose manager Holloway has been installed as favourite to take over at Championship rivals Blackburn.
But Holloway claimed he had no interest in discussing the rumours - instead focusing on his current side's failings and the match-winning striker who got away from him.
"I don't want to talk about any speculation. I am fed up of it," he said.
"I haven't quartered any of it and I don't need it in my life and neither does anyone else.
"I don't know whether it affected the malaise of my lads at the start of the game but I am sick of it but that's life.
"I have to wonder why we didn't start as brightly as we finished. Overall we did everything but score. We had the lion's share of the possession but we couldn't put the ball in the net.
"I saw our team play quite well but we didn't create enough, although Burnley didn't have many chances either.
"We posed more threat in the second half but the Burnley defenders seemed to stop my attackers too easily.
"Lee Grant made a fantastic save which changed the course of the game but Charlie Austin is a dangerous player and that is why I wanted to bring him to Blackpool. We agreed a fee for him first but he chose them."
Austin has been in scintillating form this season and he never looked like missing when he connected with Kieran Trippier's cross in the 19th minute.
Alex Baptiste and Gary Taylor-Fletcher were then both denied an equaliser by Lee Grant in the Burnley goal with a remarkable double save to move the Clarets up to 15th.
"The performance was absolutely fabulous," said Burnley caretaker-manager Terry Pashley.
"Blackpool put us under a lot of pressure in the second half and we had to weather a massive storm but I thought we defended fantastically well.
"Lee Grant has made a magnificent save and the players were willing to do all the things needed to get a clean sheet.
"They put their bodies on the line, we won our headers and we got our blocks in when we needed to, so to say I am pleased is a bit of an understatement.
"Charlie Austin took his goal well but he is a real team player and worked tirelessly for the team.
"I have not had too much time to think about it [the manager's job] as the week has gone so fast.
"It is not something I can control but I have really enjoyed this week and it was a relief to get the result."
