Burnley v Aston Villa Live

Burnley, buoyed by their excellent early-season home form, will face a difficult test against Aston Villa at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon. They will still be in high spirits after picking up their first point on their travels after snatching a late 3-3 draw at City of Manchester Stadium against Manchester City before the international break. Manager Owen Coyle may have been disappointed that his team let a 2-0 lead slip but he should be happy that his battling outfit came from behind to grab a priceless point. Coyle has recently celebrated his second anniversary in charge of the Clarets - a rarity in football these days for a manager to last so long in a job - and he certainly has enjoyed life in the top-flight so far with his unfashionable outfit occupying 10th position and making plenty of friends along the way. They have secured five wins at their Turf Moor home, against Manchester United, Everton, Sunderland and Hull City and only an off-day against Wigan Athletic has blotted their excellent record. However, it's their away record that proves to be a concern, but they will be encouraged by the draw against City last time out. Martin O'Neill's Aston Villa will prove the hosts with a stern test. They sit in fifth place and they will want to consolidate their spot in the European places. With Gabriel Agbonlahor, Ashley Young and John Carew in exceptional form against Bolton Wanderers at Villa Park on November 7 in the 5-1 drubbing, O'Neill is expected to unleash the trio again this weekend. Villa will be without Stewart Downing (ankle) and Curtis Davies (dislocated shoulder) for the foreseeable future. Burnley have to do without Jay Rodriguez (ankle), Martin Paterson (knee cartilage) and Chris McCann (knee ligament).
