Burnley linked with strikers

Derby's Rob Hulse and George Boyd of Peterborough are the latest players to be linked with moves to Burnley with us apparently having made an offer for one of them. Brian Laws - linked with moves for Rob Hulse and George BoydHulse is now supposedly subject to a £1.5 million offer from the Clarets, but I am led to believe that we have made an enquiry for the player along with many others and that we haven't, at this time, taken it any further. The Derby striker appears to be under consideration should Steven Thompson decide against signing a new deal. He's just completed his second season at Pride Park after signing from Sheffield United in the summer of 2008.He scored twelve league goals for the Rams last season and that's taken his total of league goals into three figures. All those goals have come in the top two divisions of English football with Crewe, West Brom, Leeds, Sheffield United and Derby.Boyd has just spent his first season in the Championship with the relegated Peterborough and according to one source this morning we are considering a £2 million move for him. Signed from the then named Stevenage Borough in January 2007 he's gone on to be involved in two promotions with the Posh. However, he is looking for a move and spent the end of the season on loan at Nottingham Forest, scoring a last day of the season goal for them at Scunthorpe. They are just two of a number of names being mentioned right now as we look to put our squad together for the new season. Time will tell if any of these players do arrive at Turf Moor.
