Burnley keen on Lowton

Burnley and Cardiff City are two clubs keen to make a move for Sheffield United defender Matt Lowton in January, according to Sky.

Lowton has attracted considerable interest this season but the Sheffield born 22-year-old signed a new deal with the Blades last summer although it is thought that a sizeable offer could tempt them.

He made his Sheffield United debut in March 2010, coming on as a substitute against Cardiff City and last season he scored his first goal for Sheffield United, their second in the 3-3 draw against Burnley at Bramall Lane.

Lowton can play right across the back four and in midfield. He has now made a total of 60 appearances for Sheffield United and has been an ever present in their side this season.
