Championship leaders Burnley were forced to settle for a point as former boss Eddie Howe earned a 1-1 draw on his return to Turf Moor with Bournemouth on Saturday.
Howe quit Burnley last November to return to his old club Bournemouth and looked on course to plunder a victory when a superb 25-yard strike from Tokelo Rantie put the visitors ahead four minutes into the second half.
But in-form Danny Ings, a former Bournemouth striker whom Howe signed during his spell as Burnley boss, had the last say by heading home from close range in the 84th minute.
The result leaves the Clarets still two points clear at the top of the league as their promotion rivals also slipped up.
Simon Cox and Jamie Mackie scored the goals that gave Nottingham Forest a 2-0 win over second placed Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
Cox netted on the half hour and Mackie struck three minutes before half-time to send Leicester crashing to their first home defeat of the season.
It was fifth placed Forest's first win over City in the last seven fixtures against their midlands rivals, but the Foxes had only themselves to blame after spurning several good chances, including a 69th-minute penalty by David Nugent.
Third placed QPR remain two points behind Burnley after a 1-1 draw at promotion rivals Reading.
The Royals went ahead midway through the second half when Garath McCleary fired home a low drive from 25 yards, but Harry Redknapp's visitors drew level when Joey Barton clipped in a free-kick in the 78th minute.
Daryl Murphy's header gave Ipswich a dramatic 3-2 win over fourth placed Blackpool, who thought they had rescued a point themselves with an stoppage-time leveller at Bloomfield Road.
Trailing 2-1 in the final minute, Steve Davies raced clear to equalise for the Seasiders, but there was still time for Murphy to nod home the winner from a corner before the full-time whistle.
Stephen Dobbie had put his side ahead with a first-half header, but the visitors took the lead thanks to goals in the second half from Frank Nouble and Paul Taylor.
A late header from Daniel Ayala salvaged a 2-2 draw for Middlesbrough against Watford at the Riverside Stadium.
The hosts went ahead with a well worked Albert Adomah goal in the first half but Watford levelled through Troy Deeney before the break.
The visitors took the lead in the second half through Fernando Forestieri, but Ayala squared things up in the third minute of stoppage-time.
Elsewhere, Leeds won 4-2 at Charlton, Derby overcame Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 and Bolton beat Millwall 3-1.
Birmingham won 3-1 at Huddersfield, Brighton beat Blackburn 3-0 and Barnsley drew 0-0 with Doncaster.
