We fell behind on four minutes when former loan player Dele Adebola gave 'Dale the lead. He'd signed a one year deal earlier in the day and was making his debut for his new club.
On 26 minutes it was 2-0 through Ashley Grimes against a Burnley side without any recognised midfield players, and despite eight first half corners we could have no complaints at the half time scoreline.
Hopes of a comeback in the second half were ended when Ray Putterill added number three with our consolation goal coming four minutes from time when Jason Shackell headed home a Junior Stanislas corner to score his first Burnley goal and his first goal since the opening day of last season when he netted for Derby.
That's it now in terms of public games although we face Huddersfield tomorrow behind closed doors, the last practice match before our Capital One Cup tie at Port Vale next Tuesday.
