Branchy is half time guest

Former Claret Graham Branch is the half time draw guest tomorrow at our home game against Watford. It's four years now since Branchy left Burnley after eight and a half years with the club during which he played a total of 299 league and cup games, starting with a home game against Walsall in January 1999 through to his last appearance when he came on as a substitute for captain Steven Caldwell at Preston in March 2007. He was a player who, during his time at Turf Moor, played in a variety of positions. He arrived as a left winger but played up front, at left back and even in the centre of defence for a time during the 2002/03 and 2003/04 seasons. Branchy, who captained the side during the second of those seasons, became something of a cult figure with the Turf Moor crowd and was nicknamed Graham Di Branchio. Having previously played for Tranmere and Bury, he moved on to Accrington Stanley for a season after being released by the Clarets before dropping into not league football with Cammell Laird and then Colwyn Bay where he was forced to retire after suffering an eye injury. His involvement with the game is now as a coach with junior team West Kirby Panthers but tomorrow he'll be back at Turf Moor when the Di Branchio chants will again be evident.
