Bramall Lane is filling up with ex-Clarets

When the season kicked off, the only former Burnley player at Bramall Lane was midfielder Kevin McDonald, but he's now been joined by three others who played their football at Turf Moor before McDonald arrived in England.

Earlier in the season, Jamie Hoyland, who had lost his job as youth coach at Preston in the summer, landed the role of Professional Development Lead Coach with the Blades, a club who have applied for category two status within the new Elite Player Performance Plan.

This month Hoyland has been reunited with David Unsworth who he worked alongside at Preston. Unsworth has been appointed as their Head of Academy Coaching and is one of two new appointments alongside the influential Nick Cox who has arrived from Watford to become the Academy Manager.

If that's not enough, Danny Coyne has been there recently on a short term contract, providing goalkeeping cover. He's been the substitute goalkeeper for every game since he arrived and has now extended his stay until late January.

Hoyland was with Burnley from 1994 to 1998 as a player and in more recent years was involved with the centre of excellence before joining Preston. Both Unsworth and Coyne were Steve Cotterill signings at Turf Moor, Unsworth for the 2007/08 season and before that Coyne for three years from 2004 until 2007.
