Bournemouth's Ings set for Burnley

Bournemouth's 19-year-old Danny Ings looks set to become one of Eddie Howe's next signings for Burnley with confirmation that the clubs have agreed a fee for the striker. HIs name has been linked with us, on and off, all summer, but quite often managers do get wrongly linked with former players and it was always thought that could be the case here. It was almost certain that Ings would be on the move and just a few weeks ago Bournemouth received three bids for him from Crystal Palace as the two clubs met in a pre-season friendly. Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell turned them down and declared that Ings would become their first ever £1 million sale. Should this deal go through there has, yet again in this hardly transparent world of football, an UNDISCLOSED fee agreed but the usually reliable Bournemouth Echo, who broke the news on Saturday lunchtime, are suggesting it is a fee is expected to rise to around £1 million. Ings, currently, has made just 27 league appearances for Bournemouth, scoring seven goals. His league debut for them came on the last Saturday of 2010, on the day when a 2-0 home defeat for Burnley was set to change our club. His first goal for the club came at the beginning of February in a 3-2 home win against Swindon. Ings, it is reported, will be at Burnley on Monday to discuss personal terms and manager Eddie Howe is delighted about the chances of working with the young player again. After Burnley's defeat at Crystal Palace, he said: "We have agreed a fee for Danny and hopefully more things will fall into place this week. "Personal terms need to be agreed with Danny yet, but he is a talented young player. He is still very young, only 19, and he broke into the team last year while I was manager. Everyone there has felt for a long time he is potentially one of the best players to come through in recent times, and that says a lot given the quality that has come through at Bournemouth." Howe added: "I know Premier League clubs wanted to sign him and if we do eventually get him he will be a good signing. The possibilities are endless for him because he is still learning the game. He needs to develop physically and in all areas of his game, but he has the raw ingredients to play top level. "He has a really bright future in the game and I think he will do well for us."
