Boss Coyle in tribute to Alexander

Alexander, 37, saw his remarkable run of playing every second of every game this season ended last weekend when he succumbed to injury in the 1-1 draw at Derby. The Scotland international has proved a key figure for the promotion-chasing Clarets this term and will pen a new one-year deal when his existing contract expires in the summer. Coyle said: "His contract is up in the summer but we've verbally agreed that he'll be here for another year, and I'll get that put down on paper. "I'm not one for picking out individuals, but he's been immense all season. "He's a model professional and a role model both on and off the pitch. He's been a top player all his career, and he's shown a maturity as he's gone on."
