Boothroyd goes at Coventry

14 March 2011 09:39
Coventry have been on a terrible run and have won just twice since a run of three wins against Burnley, Scunthorpe and Middlesbrough in November and December, those two wins both coming against Crystal Palace. They followed up that win against us with two more wins and two more clean sheets against Scunthorpe and Middlesbrough and were fifth in the table on the first Saturday in December.Since then the league form has deteriorated dramatically. The win against Crystal Palace is the only league win in 16 games with five others drawn. The only other victory, also against Palace, came in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.A home defeat against Hull on Saturday has seen them drop to 19th in the table and following this bad run the Coventry board have decided to act. They have placed Steve Harrison in caretaker charge.Boothroyd was appointed in May of last year and so has not enjoyed a full season at the Ricoh and the Sky Blues have become the 34th Premier and Football League club to change manager since the start of this season, with ten of those coming in the Championship.Coventry have confirmed there will be no further comment as the team prepare for the game at Turf Moor tomorrow.
