Bluebirds hero hailed by Jones

Jay Bothroyd opened the scoring before Robbie Blake's late leveller, but with a game heading for a draw, the Scotland striker popped up moments later as Cardiff regained the lead.[LNB]And McCormack settled the nerves in injury-time to send Ninian Park into raptures over a 3-1 victory.[LNB]Jones said: "Ross was top draw. But I thought long hard about bringing him or Michael Chopra off.[LNB]"In the end I went for Chops as he's been struggling with a heel injury.[LNB]"He (McCormack) didn't get a kick for 60 minutes but when it opened up he came into his own."[LNB]Cardiff's second win in 48 hours lifted Jones' side, who still have a crucial game in hand, to just four points behind second-placed Birmingham.[LNB]Jones added: "We will keep chasing down and see where it takes us. We have played four games in eight days, and that includes a derby match.[LNB]"Nobody is looking too far ahead. You can't do that. All we can do is push the teams above us. It may be a clich but we are taking it a game at a time.[LNB]"I know to win against a very good side here won't do my players any harm. It was a tight affair and it openeked to have salvaged a point six minutes later when he pounced on Darren Purse's weak backpass to poke in the equaliser.[LNB]Yet 22-year-old McCormack ensured Burnley's joy was short-lived, collecting Bothroyd's flick-on before beating Brian Jensen at his near post a minute later.[LNB]And McCormack took his season's tally to 23 after a fine solo run and finish to clinch another precious win for Cardiff.[LNB]Burnley now face a battle to hold off nearest promotion rivals Preston and Swansea in the bid to reach the play-offs.[LNB]And Clarets boss Owen Coyle said: "We are disappointed with the manner of the goals conceded. We switched off from the kick-off after we scored and were punished by McCormack.[LNB]"I'm disappointed with the goals we lost rather than the performance. It's naive at best and I let the players know that. If somebody said we would be in this position at the start of the season we would have taken that. We have to dust ourselves down and look to bounce back."[LNB][LNB]
