Blake - a touch of genius says his new boss

Robbie Blake has today signed for League One Doncaster Rovers with manager Dean Saunders describing the former Claret as a touch of genius.

Saunders has signed two players today, capturing David Cotterill before swooping to land Robbie who has just spent the last two years watching Bolton Wanderers get themselves relegated from the Premier League.

The deal is initially for one year with Blake having the option to extend it beyond next season, and his new boss said: "Robbie Blake is blessed with talent.

"I know Robbie well having played alongside him at Bradford and he's a genius at times. Obviously he's at the other end of his career to David (Cotterill) but we'll get the fitness coach working with him and I'm confident he'll be an asset for us in League One.

"He's brilliant on the ball and still has an incredible appetite for the game."

It's over two years since Robbie last pulled on a claret and blue shirt and I still miss him. I can wish him nothing but the best at Donny.
