Blades' Sharp turns down Burnley

Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp has rejected a move to Burnley, BBC Radio Sheffield understands.The 24-year old held talks at Turf Moor last week after the Blades accepted a bid in the region of £1m. [LNB]But sources close to the player have revealed that the Sheffield United striker wants to fight for his place at Bramall Lane. [LNB]"Billy's a Blade and has a desire to succeed at this club," said manager Kevin Blackwell. [LNB]The Blades had previously turned down a bid in the region of £1m in May from fellow Championship side Doncaster Rovers, where Sharp spent a successful loan spell last season, scoring 15 goals. [LNB]Blackwell added: "I asked Billy to go and prove himself last season and he did that, so credit to him." [LNB]Sharp is currently under contract at Bramall Lane for another year, but would be allowed to sign for a new club for free from January.
