Bennett's first Burnley game since opening day

Steve Bennett was the man in the middle when we kicked off our season at Stoke last August, and tomorrow he gets his second Burnley game of the season when we play host to West Ham. He didn't get much wrong in the game at the Windy City but Burnley fans will be hoping he turns in a better performance at the Turf than he did last time he was here. That was last season's 0-0 draw against Doncaster when he sent off Steven Thompson yet allowed Donny central defender Matt Mills to get away with murder.Besides refereeing one Burnley game, he's also refereed one West Ham game this season. That was their home game against the other team in claret and blue, Aston Villa. West Ham won that 2-1 in a game that saw Villa's Habib Beye sent off.It is one of two occasions Bennett has shown red this season; the other was Younes Kaboul who received a second yellow for removing his shirt in celebration of a stoppage time equaliser against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in December. He likes his red cards too, and so far in just 19 games he's handed out 67 of them. Of those 29 have gone the way of home players and 38 to away players. The assistant referees for tomorrow's game are Dave Bryan (Lincolnshire) and Bob Pollock (Merseyside) and the fourth official is Alan Wiley (Staffordshire) who was on duty in the same role when we visited Old Trafford recently.
