Battles at top and bottom

West Ham are still in relegation trouble after their 3-1 home defeat to Wolves, but although not safe yet it now looks as though Wolves have joined Bolton and Wigan close to the safety line. Portsmouth are just about gone, and rightly so despite the Premier League's best efforts to bend or break every rule to help them. Burnley and Hull look favourites to take the drop with them with West Ham now the only catchable club who sit three points above us.At the top it is as close as it could be with only two points seperating the top three and Chelsea having one extra home game remaining. It's been a topsy turvy week in the chase for fourth place with Liverpool, Manchester City both losing and Aston Villa dropping home points. Tottenham now look favourites. The recent stats along with the leading goalscorers, each club's disciplinary record and the next fixtures are below. The Week's ResultsSaturday 20th MarchArsenal 2 West Ham 0Stoke 1 Tottenham 2Aston Villa 2 Wolves 2Sunderland 3 Birmingham 1Everton 2 Bolton 0Wigan 1 Burnley 0Portsmouth 3 Hull 2.Sunday 21st MarchBlackburn 1 Chelsea 1Manchester United 2 Liverpool 1Fulham 1 Manchester City 2.Tuesday 23rd MarchWest Ham 1 Wolves 3.Wednesday 24th MarchAston Villa 1 Sunderland 1Manchester City 0 Everton 2Blackburn 2 Birmingham 1Portsmouth 0 Chelsea 5The Week's StatsBiggest winChelsea 5-0 v Portsmouth (away)Total goals scored45 (22 home - 23 away)Player scoring most goals2Darren Bent (Sunderland)John Carew (Aston Villa)David Dunn (Blackburn)Caleb Folan (Hull)Frank Lampard (Chelsea)Florent Malouda (Chelsea)Highest Attendance75,216 - Manchester United v LiverpoolLowest Attendance16,513 - Portsmouth v HullTotal Yellow Cards42Total Red Cards3Most cards in a gameArsenal v West Ham (5Y 1R) - Martin AtkinsonThe leading scorers (league only)26Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)24Didier Drogba (Chelsea)20Darren Bent (Sunderland)17Jermain Defoe (Tottenham)16Carlos Tevez (Manchester City)Fernando Torres (Liverpool)15Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal)13Frank Lampard (Chelsea)Louis Saha (Everton)11Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)10Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United)9Emmanuel Adebayor (Manchester City)Andrey Arshavin (Arsenal)Carlton Cole (West Ham)Cameron Jerome (Birmingham)Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool)Florent Malouda (Chelsea)Hugo Rodallega (Wigan)8Nicolas Anelka (Chelsea)Craig Bellamy (Manchester City)Kenwyne Jones (Sunderland)Bobby Zamora (Fulham)Hat Tricks (league only)19th Aug3 - Jermain Defoe - Hull v TOTTENHAM12th Sep3 - Yossi Benayoun - LIVERPOOL v Burnley26th Sep4 - Robbie Keane - TOTTENHAM v Burnley26th Sep3 - Fernando Torres - LIVERPOOL v Hull31st Oct3 - Aruna Dindane - PORTSMOUTH v Wigan21st Nov5 - Jermain Defoe - TOTTENHAM v Wigan28th Nov3 - Wayne Rooney - Portsmouth v MANCHESTER UNITED11th Jan3 - Carlos Tevez - MANCHESTER CITY v Blackburn23rd Jan4 - Wayne Rooney - MANCHESTER UNITED v Hull9th Mar3 - Darren Bent - SUNDERLAND v BoltonDisciplinary Record (all domestic games)ClubYRClubYRArsenal591Liverpool545Aston Villa642Manchester City593Birmingham611Manchester United566Blackburn594Portsmouth774Bolton635Stoke665Burnley573Sunderland746Chelsea514Tottenham551Everton582West Ham633Fulham381Wigan511Hull605Wolves613The Next FixturesSaturday 27th MarchBirmingham v ArsenalTottenham v PortsmouthBolton v Manchester United (17:30)West Ham v StokeChelsea v Aston VillaWolves v EvertonHull v Fulham.Sunday 28th MarchBurnley v Blackburn (12:00)Liverpool v Sunderland (16:00)Monday 29th MarchManchester City v Wigan (20:00).
