Barnet said no to cup prices

The ticket prices for our next Carling Cup game against Barnet are the same as they were for the previous round against Burton Albion which led to some disappointment from fans. Those prices of £15 for adults, £10 seniors and £5 under-16s were thought by many to be too high, and that was relayed to the club, along with feelings on the Sunderland friendly game pricing, at a meeting with the supporters groups representatives six weeks ago. At that meeting the club did agree to monitor the situation and then, lo and behold, were presented with an ideal opportunity to change things when the win over Burton gave us a very similar tie in the second round against Barnet. If nothing else, lowering the prices for the Barnet game would give the club the chance to match prices against attendances for the two game should they reduce the prices and that's what they decided to do. Burnley decided that the prices should be £10 for adults, £5 seniors and just £1 for accompanied under-16s, prices that would certainly have met with the approval of those in the supporters groups liaison meeting. However, Barnet refused to accept them. They wouldn't even accept the £1 charge for juniors and so, on this occasion, Burnley have reluctantly had no option but to charge the same prices as they did for the Burton Albion game.
