Austin out for season
Burnley have confirmed striker Charlie Austin will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
The 21-year-old, a January signing from Swindon, suffered a dislocated shoulder in training last week and will now undergo an operation.
It is the second time this season Austin has sustained a dislocated shoulder having already done so in September when at the County Ground, although he did not require surgery and was sidelined for just over a month.
"He did it on Monday and he is due to go under the knife this Wednesday," Clarets boss Eddie Howe told the club`s official website.
"He will be out for the season but should be back as good as new for the first day of pre-season.
"It is really bad luck for the lad because we have all got high hopes for him here. But he is one for the long-term and we have to take a long-term view on it and protect him by getting the operation done now and getting him right for next season."
