Austin backs Clarets for the top

Charlie Austin believes Burnley's performance in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Southampton proved the club are capable of a top-six finish.[LNB] The Clarets currently hover one place above the relegation zone but the 22-year-old is confident they can defy their critics and turn their season around.[LNB]"That's what people say, that's what pundits are like, they say what they think," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "But we can go under the radar by winning and just creeping up that table.[LNB]"We've showed everyone what we can do but we can't just do it against the big teams, we need to do it against the lesser teams as well. Consistency is the main thing.[LNB]"We shouldn't be down in the position where we are. We haven't had the rub of the green at the moment but as soon as we do we'll be straight up at the top.[LNB]"It's not being ambitious, to be honest, it's where we want to be. That's the belief we've got in the changing room. We've got the talent to be up there."
