Arsenal falter as United retain lead

30 March 2010 11:21
Manchester City's win last night ended the weekend programme of Premier League games with Manchester United still on top after a big win at Bolton. Manchester United's comprehensive win, despite Bolton going toe-to-toe with them, coupled with Chelsea hitting Aston Villa for seven has now left Arsenal four points behind the leaders and three behind Chelsea.Spurs look favourites for the fourth Champions League place although City's win leaves them right on their heels. Liverpool look as though they face too big a task now and Villa are just about out of it.Our defeat has left us hanging by a thread. We'd had good and bad news with the West Ham and Hull results on the Saturday but couldn't help ourselves. Whilst not doomed it is looking now as though one of West Ham and Hull will survive with the other going down with us and the joke club that is Portsmouth. The latest stats, along with the leading goalscorers, each club's disciplinary record and the next fixtures, are shown below. The Week's ResultsSaturday 27th MarchBirmingham 1 Arsenal 1Tottenham 2 Portsmouth 0Bolton 0 Manchester United 4West Ham 0 Stoke 1Chelsea 7 Aston Villa 1Wolves 0 Everton 0Hull 2 Fulham 0.Sunday 28th MarchBurnley 0 Blackburn 1Liverpool 3 Sunderland 0Monday 29th MarchManchester City 3 Wigan 0.The Week's StatsBiggest winChelsea 7-1 v Aston Villa (home)Total goals scored26 (18 home - 8 away)Player scoring most goals4 - Frank Lampard (Chelsea)Highest Attendance45,534 - Manchester City v WiganLowest Attendance21,546 - Burnley v BlackburnTotal Yellow Cards32Total Red Cards1Most cards in a gameManchester City v Wigan (5Y 1R) - Stuart AttwellHull v Fulham (6Y) - Chris FoyThe leading scorers (league only)26Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)24Didier Drogba (Chelsea)20Darren Bent (Sunderland)19Carlos Tevez (Manchester City)18Fernando Torres (Liverpool)17Jermain Defoe (Tottenham)Frank Lampard (Chelsea)16Carlos Tevez (Manchester City)Fernando Torres (Liverpool)15Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal)13Louis Saha (Everton)12Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United)11Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa)Florent Malouda (Chelsea)9Emmanuel Adebayor (Manchester City)Andrey Arshavin (Arsenal)Carlton Cole (West Ham)Cameron Jerome (Birmingham)Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool)Hugo Rodallega (Wigan)Hat Tricks (league only)19th Aug3 - Jermain Defoe - Hull v TOTTENHAM12th Sep3 - Yossi Benayoun - LIVERPOOL v Burnley26th Sep4 - Robbie Keane - TOTTENHAM v Burnley26th Sep3 - Fernando Torres - LIVERPOOL v Hull31st Oct3 - Aruna Dindane - PORTSMOUTH v Wigan21st Nov5 - Jermain Defoe - TOTTENHAM v Wigan28th Nov3 - Wayne Rooney - Portsmouth v MANCHESTER UNITED11th Jan3 - Carlos Tevez - MANCHESTER CITY v Blackburn23rd Jan4 - Wayne Rooney - MANCHESTER UNITED v Hull9th Mar3 - Darren Bent - SUNDERLAND v Bolton27th Mar4 - Frank Lampard - CHELSEA v Aston Villa29th Mar3 - Carlos Tevez - MANCHESTER CITY v WiganDisciplinary Record (all domestic games)ClubYRClubYRArsenal611Liverpool545Aston Villa662Manchester City623Birmingham641Manchester United566Blackburn614Portsmouth784Bolton635Stoke685Burnley603Sunderland756Chelsea544Tottenham551Everton592West Ham633Fulham421Wigan532Hull625Wolves623The Next FixturesSaturday 3rd AprilArsenal v WolvesPortsmouth v BlackburnBolton v Aston VillaStoke v HullBurnley v Manchester City (17:30)Sunderland v TottenhamManchester United v Chelsea (12:45).Sunday 4th AprilBirmingham v LiverpoolFulham v WiganEverton v West Ham (16:00).
