Burnley dominated in the first half and took the lead through Jay Rodriguez, but at times it was back to the walls after the break and we were thankful to the goalkeeping of Grant and the defending of Amougou for keeping that lead.
Both players have recently been recalled to the side, following injuries to Brian Jensen and Ben Mee in the defeat at Peterborough, and both have certainly put down a marker for a permanent place.
It was Grant, in his best performance since he kept Hull at bay in our last clean sheet, who won the man of the match with 37.1% of the vote, and that was ahead of Amougou who polled 22.6%.
The only other player to win double figures was Jay Rodriguez and he had a 14.1% share that won him third place.
The top two were reversed in the player ratings with Amougou coming out on top with a rating of 8.09 out of 10, which was not too far ahead of Grant whose rating was 8.00. This time it was right back Kieran Trippier who came in third with a rating of 7.00 out of 10.
The result from this game gives both Amougou and Grant five points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with both Rodriguez and Trippier, the current top two in the table, both winning one point.
Although Trippier still holds a six point lead it is closing up now with Amougou moving into third place, just a point behind Rodriguez whilst Grant has joined David Edgar, Chris McCann and Keith Treacy in joint sixth place.
