Burnley have confirmed the appointment of John Banaszkiewicz to the board of directors at Turf Moor. The Nelson-born businessman was voted onto the board at a meeting at Turf Moor on Monday, when four serving directors also served notice to quit the board. Chris Duckworth, Martin Hobbs, John Sullivan and John Turkington have all stepped aside to allow a streamlined board to take the club forward. Chairman Barry Kilby said: "John is a real identikit for what we want as a Burnley director. "First and foremost he is a businessman. We need to run this club properly and I think we do, but the experience he has gained by building up an international business is an invaluable asset to the club. "His heart is also with the club. He is a genuine supporter who comes from the area, he is a substantial businessman and he can give us stability when needed, so it's an ideal combination for a new director and we welcome him to the board."
