The Clarets return to the top flight after a 33-year absence and Alexander is relishing the prospect. The 37-year-old was a pivotal figure in Owen Coyle's side last season and played in all bar 26 minutes of their 61 league and cup games. Alexander told the Lancashire Telegraph: "The closed-season seems to get shorter each year, but I'd never complain about playing football. "And when everyone gets back we're looking forward to what will hopefully be another great season. "The games we're going to be playing in are going to be a test for us, but hopefully we'll do as well as we have done this year."
