Alexander going nowhere

The Sunday tabloids had Graham Alexander on his way back to Preston as Darren Ferguson continues to look for players to help his side pull away from the bottom of the league. Ferguson has told North End fans they need to be realistic, and he's also told them his job there is secure, but there is a need for new players and the Alexander link surfaced on Sunday with the Clarets' captain and former Preston player currently out of the Burnley side.Brian Laws, however, has dismissed it. He told the Burnley Express: "There's been no contact or approach from anyone and I don't know where the story has come from. Grezza is an integral part of the team and coaching staff."Grezza is in a long line of frustrated players who aren't starting at present and he remains an important part of the coaching think tank as well."He's still a big part of Burnley Football Club. You've got to keep all your best players, and he is certainly part of that group. It only takes an injury or suspension and the midfield is changed, as we've seen with the back four."
