Alex Mac to stay longer with Burton

Alex MacDonald joined Burton Albion on a month's loan at the end of January and that loan has now been extended until the end of the league season on 8th May.

He's settled into a side going well in League Two. He has started six games for them and this loan extension allows Alex to remain at the Pirelli Stadium for two potential play off games should they end the season in the top seven.

A top seven finish is looking very likely. They are currently in fifth place on 58 points and that's a seven point lead over Southend in eighth place. It could be better too; they sit just two points behind third place Cheltenham.

Should it be a play off finish, MacDonald would be available for the semi-finals but would not be permitted to play in any final as this would take the loan beyond the maximum 93 days allowable for an emergency loan.
