Burnley striker Ade Akinbiyi has confirmed that he is considering quitting the game at the end of the new season.
The well-travelled 33-year-old admits that his body is starting to feel the effects of a lengthy career and Akinbiyi may decide to end his playing days as early as next summer.
He told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph: "I've been talking about giving up next year, but I don't know what will happen. I'll see how my body feels.
"I won't drop down the divisions gradually, if I decide to call it a day it will be when I can't do the things I'm good at. I want to try and end on a high.
"I've been more about using my strength and doing a lot of running and when you get older, it takes its toll sometimes.
"I think I'm the sort of person who can play around 30 games now. I don't think I'll be able to play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday."
