Akinbiyi eyes Gray link

Burnley striker Ade Akinbiyi is confident that he can strike up a successful partnership with fellow Clarets frontman Andy Gray.

Akinbiyi netted his first league goal in nine outings since rejoining the Clarets in the January transfer window in the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Gray is still finding his feet after recently coming back from more than two months out of action due to injury.

Akinbiyi told the club's official website: "I think it's coming along. I am sure everyone knows that Andy isn't 100 per cent yet, but he is giving it his best.

"The more games he plays and the more games I play, the more we will get to know each other. I believe the goals will come - I've always believed that.

"We're going out and giving it 100 per cent. The manager and all the staff are backing us all the way."
