Tunnicliffe pens Rovers loan deal
16 Jul 2010 - 11:43:08
Bristol Rovers have completed the season-long loan signing of Brighton and Hove Albion defender James Tunnicliffe.
The 21-year-old, who joined the Seagulls from Stockport County last year, is just one year into a three-year contract on the south coast, but he doesn't appear to be a part of manager Gus Poyet's plans.
However, Rovers boss Paul Trollope is delighted to have him on board for the upcoming League One campaign.
Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "We feel James is an excellent addition to the squad. He is a highly-rated young defender.
"We were delighted to secure his signature, beating off some strong competition from a number of good clubs.
"James is a young player with the potential to develop and grow. He has the right attributes and quality that we are looking for to progress."
