Trollope talks up Lambert
07 Oct 2008 - 07:09:52
Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert won high praise from manager Paul Trollope, having scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory at Colchester United.
The 26-year-old has already netted nine goals this season and Trollope is delighted with Lambert's all-round contribution to the Rovers cause.
He told the Evening Post: "Rickie's movement is very good now and I think he's on the top of his game.
"When the ball is played up to his feet, you know he's going to retain possession and his work ethic is terrific.
"Much has been said about his weight and fitness, but he's in good shape now and he deserves all he's getting.
"He chases lost causes, makes life difficult for defenders and has the quality to score goals."
