Trollope proud despite loss
03 Nov 2008 - 08:46:01
Bristol Rovers' first-team coach Paul Trollope was disappointed his side could not hold on for a famous victory at Leicester City.
Two Matty Fryatt goals in the final three minutes gave the Foxes an unlikely win after Jo Kuffour had given Trollope's side the lead just after the hour mark.
Trollope said: "They had a lot of corners and free-kicks which we seemed to be dealing with and, up until late in the game, they weren't creating anything from open play so we're very disappointed to have lost.
"I'm still proud of the players as it was a huge effort, and a good performance, against a strong Leicester side.
"We want to start another run now. Defeat today means that we have an even record with five wins, five draws and five defeats.
"We felt we were worthy of taking something from the game and probably deserved at least a point but we have to bounce back quickly for a good game at Bournemouth next week, and a great home game against Scunthorpe."
