Trollope lambasts Rovers

07 Feb 2007 - 09:09:24

Bristol Rovers head coach Paul Trollope slammed his side's defending after a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Darlington.

The reverse meant the Pirates missed a chance to close on the play-off places, but Trollope had few complaints.

He said: "I felt our defending was back to the frailty of last season and we have to nip that deficiency in the bud.

"We've conceded four goals now in two home games and that's very disappointing.

"We talked about it after the game because we didn't defend well as a team.

"I felt we were better defensively in the second half, but we have missed a great chance to close in on the play-off positions by wasting one of our games in hand."
