Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope has challenged his side to earn promotion after reaching the final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy with a 1-0 victory over rivals Bristol City on Tuesday.
The Pirates set up a Millennium Stadium final showdown against Doncaster Rovers with a 1-0 aggregate victory at the Memorial Stadium and Trollope wants a continuation of their cup form in a bid to earn promotion from League Two.
"The lads did us proud over two very close games and this is the proudest moment of my career," he admitted.
"It's a fantastic night for the club and our supporters. We've had a period in the doldrums and they deserve what will be a fantastic day out.
"I felt we worked very hard over the two games but we have proved in the FA Cup and this competition that we can do well against teams from higher leagues.
"Now we have to transform this performance into our own league displays because I still think we can make the play-offs."
