Trollope: Win was crucial
16 Nov 2009 - 16:10:54
Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope hopes that Saturday's last-gasp win against Carlisle United will prove to be the turning point for his out of sorts team.
The Pirates had lost six consecutive games in the lead-up to the weekend fixture, but two goals in the last ten minutes turned the game the hosts' way and the relief around Memorial Stadium was palpable.
Speaking to Evening Post, he said: "It could be a turning point in our season.
"After the bad run we have been on, we knew we had to turn things around - but it might take a little bit of luck, a fantastic bit of skill or a last-gasp winner to do it.
"The finish of the game and the way we won it, can hopefully change the mentality of the whole group."
