Bristol Rovers have snapped up Hull City defender Danny Coles on a three-month loan deal from under the noses of League One rivals Hartlepool.
The 26-year-old returned to Hull earlier in the week following a loan spell at Hartlepool United, which they were believed to be interested in extending.
However, the former Bristol City defender has now agreed a move to the Memorial Stadium.
Coles joined the Tigers for £200,000 in July 2005 after making almost 150 appearances for City.
The Pirates could make the loan into a permanent transfer in January should Coles impress head coach Paul Trollope.
