Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Steve Phillips will return to the Memorial Stadium after a move to Turkish side Ankara fell through.

The 31-year-old jetted out to Turkey to discuss personal terms with the Super Lig outfit, but failed to agreed a deal.

He will return to England and train with the Paul Trollope's side this week, but his future with the League One club remains uncertain.

The Pirates have signed Fraser Forster on loan, as well as bringing in fellow shot stopper Rhys Evans on a short-term contract.

Phillips has made 165 first team appearances with the club since arriving from neighbours Bristol City.

He made 257 outings in nine years with the Robins.
