Lambert pens Rovers deal

Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert has signed a new contract to keep him at the Memorial Stadium until 2011.

The 26-year-old has been rewarded with a new long-term deal after hitting the ground running this season.

The former Rochdale striker has netted six goals in five appearances for the Pirates in the current campaign.

Lambert joined Rovers in a £200,000 deal two years ago and has netted 35 times in 99 appearances.
