Lambert back in the fold
09 Nov 2006 - 12:16:48
Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert is glad to be back in action, having endured a frustrating start to his Pirates career.
The 24-year-old appeared in a midweek reserve fixture, having been sidelined for more than a month by illness and injury.
He told the Evening Post: "It's been a frustrating few weeks because I had flu, then I got a thigh strain.
"It's horrible watching from the stand while the rest of the lads play, because you want to be out there with them. But now I feel good and I've had no reaction from the reserve game.
Lambert joined Rovers for £200,000 from Rochdale on deadline day at the end of August, but has yet to find the net for his new club.
