Keeper choice faces Trollope

Bristol Rovers head coach Paul Trollope has hinted that fit-again goalkeeper Steve Phillips will be handed a recall for the away trip to Wrexham next weekend.

Former Bristol City gloveman Phillips has missed Rovers' last three games due to a toe injury, but is back in contention and could replace Scott Shearer against the Red Dragons.

Trollope told the Western Daily Press: "Steve will be available for Saturday, which is good for us.

"Having said that, Scott has been competent with everything he's done, his handling, kicking and distribution have been good and he's been talking well.

"He was disappointed to be left out earlier in the season, but this has been a good response by him."
