    Green boost for Rovers

    14 Feb 2007 - 13:48:49

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope is hopeful that full-back Ryan Green will be back in action in just over a month, after an ankle injury proved not to be as serious as was first feared.

The 26-year-old Wales international was injured early on in the 4-3 defeat at Grimsby Town, with Rovers having feared that he had suffered ligament damage.

However, Trollope told the club's official website: "It was a deep cut and a long cut but it appears that there is no ligament or bone damage.

"He has seen a specialist and it may require further scans, but at the moment we are keeping our fingers crossed that is it just a cut, albeit a bad one."

Green joined Rovers in the summer from Hereford United and has been a virtual ever-present for the Pirates this season.
