Bristol Rovers defender Steve Elliott has returned to training and hopes to feature in the FA Cup sixth round clash with West Brom.

The 29-year-old former Derby County and Blackpool player has been sidelined since the shock third round success against Fulham in January but is recovering well from the problem.

He told the Bristol Evening Post: "Initially it was thought I'd be out for between eight and ten weeks but I'm back in full training with the rest of the squad after five.

"This is the first real injury I've had in my three-and-a-half years at the club and if I have to wait three-and-a-half years for the next one, I won't be complaining.

"The West Brom match would a wonderful game to come back for.

"We've been on a fantastic run since the Fulham replay and have had some difficult games, but have come through them."
