Coles suffers injury setback
05 Mar 2009 - 13:34:10
Bristol Rovers defender Danny Coles may miss the rest of the season after suffering a setback in his recovery from a long-term knee injury.
The 27-year-old has not featured in the first team since last October, but had been closing in on a possible return to action, only to break down in training late last week.
Rovers' physio Phil Kite told the Evening Post: "Danny had been back in training without any problem, but late last week his knee flared up again.
"He's since seen a specialist and has had an injection and now we'll give it a couple of weeks to settle down and see how things go from there.
"It's a setback for Danny but not a disaster. The specialist said that it's quite common to get these sorts of complications after the injury he's had.
"It doesn't look as though he will need more surgery, but whether he can play again this season, we will have to wait and see."
