Clough pens Rovers deal
04 Sep 2007 - 13:45:23
Bristol Rovers have handed a first professional contract to teenage midfielder Charlie Clough.
The 17-year-old graduate from the club's centre of excellence has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.
"He is a strong boy and I think he's got a good future in the game," Rovers' under-18 team coach Tony Ricketts told the club's official website.
"He's very athletic, very fit, and even when he was 15 playing football at under-18 level he had a real presence for us in midfield.
"He's got an eye for goal and is very committed. I think he'll be popular with the fans."
